My Career

Hello everybody again!!! I have to tell you about my career.

I´m studying Obstretice in the University of Chile and this is my first year. I study here because this university is the best in Chile and I chose this career because it is very exciting and beautiful help to the pregnant women to giving birth, receive a new human life and then take care of the newborn.I really love it!!!

The midwife contribute to the women`s health before, during and after the pregnancy and also in the newborn`s care , specially during the first days of life.

There are so many tools that a midwife can use for doing her profession, and all depends of the time of pregnancy, or if the women are not pregnant there are others tools for that. The tools more commonly used are the obstetrical forceps, pelvimetres, umbilical scissors ,gall duct forceps, metal catheters female,vaginal speculum, uterine depressors, uterine dilators, uterine curettes, and a lot of more instruments.

My favourite subject is neonatology, I think the little babys are gorgeous. In the future I will stay in this area, is hard to take care other person`s childrens , especially when they are newborn and the parents are so excited, it`s a big responsability but for that I`m studying so hard and I hope to be a great midwife in the future.
